Mount Terrible
15 years of trials took place at this signature vineyard in the stunningly beautiful Jamieson Valley...
John and Janene Eason have devoted many years towards their ambition of producing an esteemed Pinot Noir in the style of the great French Burgundies.
From their first vintage in 2006, and successive impressive vintages later, Mount Terrible is now an icon of the extended Mansfield and Upper Goulburn region.
These vignerons follow traditional Burgundian practice: yields are kept low, grapes are picked by hand, chilled and sorted by John before crushing.
Handling is kept to a minimum with gravity feeds replacing pumping throughout the winery. From crushing to bottling, the whole wine-making process takes place on site, and the barrels and finished wine are stored in an underground cellar.
Recently a Chardonnay and Rose have joined the ranks but get in quick as these sell out fast!
Mount Terrible wines have received consistent critical acclaim; most recently being awarded 96pts for the 2018 and 2016 Pinot Noir and 97pts for their 2015 Pinot Noir (James Halliday). Mt Terrible wines can be found in local and national establishments of repute.
